If this team is committed to winning this year, I think they will have to add a pitcher. However, we don't have a lot of ammo so it may take some creativity. I'd suggest a two parter:

Part 1: The Rays and Fish both look like sellers. They have pitchers of interest like Luzardo (Fish) or Springs (due back early July), Eflin or Littell. Both of those clubs need a young catcher. Something like Yanier for Springs and maybe a guy like Tre Morgan. Springs is signed reasonably for $10M in 2025 and 2026 with a team option.

Part 2: Well crap now we don't have a catcher. No worries, the Jays are selling and they have a pending free agent catcher in Danny Jansen. Jansen is absolutely raking and his batted ball metrics the last couple seasons back it up. I dunno what prospect(s) it takes but rental catchers have not been that expensive historically. He's only 29 so I'd also go ahead and extend Jansen for another 2-3 years at $10-11M a year.

I don't love giving up Yanier but a number 3 starter is much more valuable for this club. I also don't see a scenario where Jansen + a good SP isn't more valuable this year than Yanier alone.
