It wasn't even brutal, it was over in five ****ing pitches. Brutal would be 3 separate 10 pitch AB ending in a foul pop up. This was just a fleeting piece of nonsense at the end of a **** night.

Many of us said this early in the season. There is something seriously missing in the clubhouse dynamic. I'll keep repeating that when the GM calls the players out for needing to play with a sense of urgency, you know it is obvious and bad.

Only saving grace is the disaster of a division we are in still gives us hope - just lost 3 in a row and we're still only 6.5 back! And the last 3 games have been so winnable!
Espada may not make it to the All Star break. His piss poor management style is affecting the performance of this team in a big way: No leadership, no energy and no fire exhibited whatsoever.

Glad I didn't watch tonight. For those who don't know Blinn is in the njcaa World Series this week. All games on espn+. Much more exciting than the Astros currently.
Starting pitchers give up 5 runs across 3 games including 1 run each in 2 of them and you lose all 3.

Refusal to bunt and manufacture a run in Manfred ball. I understand maybe not always doing this because maybe it's a rally killer and you need more than 1. However, in a low-scoring pitcher's duel it seems like bunting Manfred-man over to 3rd needs to happen. Esp with the bottom of the order up.
Dubon, arguably our best situational hitter in 2024, as the pinch runner. I don't know what he needs to do to play. Maybe he should just demand a trade at this point.
It was an unbelievable run, but the 2024 Astros are just bad. I don't think Wild Card is is in the cards; pretty much win the division or bust. And it doesn't appear they are serious about trying to do that.

It's incredible that our stupid AF manager decides that THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT SERIES SO FAR THIS year demands playing TWO DEADBEAT PLAYERS JUST RECENTLY BEING BROUGHT BACK.
Like WTF dude. You completely screw with our momentum by doing that and going against what was allowing us to win games (BY NOT playing them and favoring other players instead)
I get that we need to TRY and give these struggling guys some ABs here and there, preferably in games we have a commanding lead....but why in the sam hell is he using them in dedicated roles for this series?

and adding to the frustration...the games vs. Seattle are more important than other games because of the new tiebreaker rules

Crane does seem to like 'big moves' so one such move might be canning Espada and luring a Francona out of retirement.
Singleton plays 1B in all 3 games of this series and the Astros win 2. The timing of Aubreu's 'return' could not have been worse.
And all it took was 2 losing series in the past week or so to crap away all that great momentum we had

That was the closest I've come to going to bed before the game was over since maybe 2014 when we had twin 2 year olds at home. Fortunately the Mariners got it done quickly in the10th.
On the bright side, didn't we get that record for most games in a row only scoring in one inning?

Hitting and hitting coaches are still gonna be defended because we have the 5th most runs in the AL! Situational hitting be damned.

Pitchers duels are going to happen but the 10th was mismanaged big time. Patience with Espada is running thin.
