Hopefully one of you geniuses can explain last night to me.

Late in the game the A's pinch hit for their DH. The box score shows Davis as PH-DH.

I'm very confused. If you PH for a DH I thought you lost the DH and the pitcher had to be inserted in that spot. At the time Miller was the pitcher. But the box score doesn't show that.

What don't I understand?
