I expect moves of some sort over the next 24-48 hours. Maybe sooner. I'll share more info as I'm able to get it and confirm.
The Astros put Grae Kessinger on the 10-day IL with "right shoulder discomfort" and designated Joel Kuhnel for assignment to clear a roster spot for Joey Loperfido

I'm told they had another idea in mind but it didn't work out... yet. Bummer.bearkatag15 said:The Astros put Grae Kessinger on the 10-day IL with "right shoulder discomfort" and designated Joel Kuhnel for assignment to clear a roster spot for Joey Loperfido

Joey Loperfido will wear No. 10, last worn by Yuli Gurriel

this issue with Jake...

This means Dubon is the only player on the roster who can back up Bregman & Pena. Anytime we use Dubon we need to keep him in the game so he's available to fill in if there is an injury. Meaning if he starts in the OF vs a LHP and we want to pinch hit for him because there is a nasty RHP in, we can't without risking not having a backup for the rest of the game. I would think this means Dubon is getting more of his reps in the INF when Altuve, Pena, and Bregman need time off. We haven't seen any get many days off their feet. Plus IMO Chas and Jake should be getting the OF starts over Dubon anyway.bearkatag15 said:The Astros put Grae Kessinger on the 10-day IL with "right shoulder discomfort" and designated Joel Kuhnel for assignment to clear a roster spot for Joey Loperfido

I feel Jake has fallen victim to other guys not carrying their weight. He's the guy that was supposed to bat .235 to .250 and provide a little pop at the bottom of the lineup while playing solid defense. I thought he'd get more consistent playing time than he has so far this season.

Because people put things in their heads and keep it there. It's clear Dusty was never going to give him a real chance last year, so he basically wasted a professional year for Jake.Farmer1906 said:Rookie Jake - .761 OPS / 109 wRC+ / xwOBA .321W said:

Bum Shoulder Jake - .678 OPS / 81 wRC+ / xwOBA .281
Healthy Jake - .737 OPS / 111 wRC+ / xwOBA .352
WHEN HEALTHY Slightly above-average hitter with plus-plus defense. Who wouldn't want that guy?
For whatever reason, Espada isn't using Dubon as a utility guy, which would allow Jake to have a lot more ABs. Instead, he's taking CF ABs from Jake.AggiEE said:iBrad said:

I'm disappointed he hasn't played very much
I thought he was to be the everyday CF?

José Abreu is not with the Astros, GM Dana Brown said. Both sides decided that Abreu will be optioned to West Palm Beach effective tomorrow “to get some at-bats and his timing back right.”

Dana Brown on José Abreu agreeing to this move: “It’s definitely a rare thing but it tells you that much more about the human being. He was frustrated. He was wearing it.”

Did I miss when JP was optioned to sugar Landon 4/26?
And supposedly cabbage was optioned back down yesterday
Because the Astros are not going to option José Abreu until tomorrow, there is no corresponding move today. So the Astros will play a man down tonight. Jon Singleton will play first base tonight. Yes, Trey Cabbage is eligible to be recalled.
