I feel for the kid.

I'm sure the kid had no expectation of getting called up, but it just happened to be his turn in the rotation.

AND he had to step in for the staff "Ace"

AND he had to pitch in a big MLB rivalry game

AND he probably grew up rooting for one of the teams given he went to college in Austin

AND he probably has a lot of friends/family there.

Let's hold them here and get to Heaney.

Poor kid was put in an awful situation. I feel bad for him and his family.

I wonder if he was intimidated. His first major league start was against the team he grew up watching, and on extreme short notice. Imagine preparing to have Albuquerque and then you have to face the Rangers.

I read he grew up about 20 minutes from the stadium and is a life long Rangers fan.

Hook up with chicks who want to get beat up and obligating them by beating them up. It may be legal but it's horrible optics. In today's climate nobody in their right mind wants anything to do with that.

IMO many on this thread are overreacting. The results suck and I feel for the kid but if Seagers popup was hit a tad harder or softer that inning might have gone a whole different direction. Also it is not as if you can use mound visits to stall anymore.
