Crazy to say but I think I rather keep Jake.

I think Chas' 2023 was the anomaly.
Disagree. Rather keep Chas.

I think Jake's very brief hot streak has more of a chance of being the anomaly and that over the last month plus he is back to being what he is, which is a defensive specialist who doesn't hit enough to be an everyday OF. He's also not young. He's 28 and speed is the key to OF defense. He's aging into being a corner OF and he definitely doesn't hit enough for that.

IMO higher likelihood that Chas goes back to being a .750-.800 OPS guy who is serviceable enough in CF and can maybe hit enough to be an everyday corner OF.

and during the sweeps to the Yankees, Royals, Braves, and Cubs back in April...

Abreu went 0 for 27 at the plate
If he just hit .250 with an average OPS that's like 5 singles, a double, and a HR. Imagine what just that average production could have done especially considering he came up a LOT with men on base during that time.

We'd be either tied or leading Seattle right now as I bet that would have flipped at least 2 games.

The Battered Astro Syndrome is kicking in since the Abreu experiment went so colossally bad.

Not all that rare, even when the roof is closed. Hopefully, they invest in some maintenance during the offseason.
C'mon that ain't happening. Owners in America simply convince tax payers to cover the cost of billion dollar stadiums, let them fall apart by investing nothing into it after its built and then convincing the tax payers to build them a new one or threaten to move the team

I'm actually feeling really good about this Mets series. I think 'Stros are going to win it.

The Friday and Saturday pitching matchups favor the Astros with Blanco on Friday and Framber on Saturday.

I honestly think a 6-4 or 7-3 road trip is not out of the question.

We give 44 a pass. Vlad isn't him, but he's still very good.

Give me Vlad Jr plus a bullpen arm this trade deadline and I think we make the playoffs (as long as LMJ and LuAce actually do come back and are productive)

Vlad is decent at 1B. Not much range but I think he was second or third in scoops last year.

Sadly I don't think we can count on LMJ. I really hope I'm wrong but it's been 3 years since we got anything signficant from him. The problem is in order for him to be effective he has to put too much torque and strain on his arm. Also, his competitiveness won't allow him to go anything other than 100% and I totally respect that but it works against him.

Forget about production

I'm skeptical that Lance can return and not get injured again.

Article is pointless. Yankees want to trade for Bregs and Pressly. No speculation on who they'd give up. I guess Jim Crane, that country bumpkin, and aw shucks Dana Brown just give them up for some magic beans?

Sure. Bregman for Soto. Straight up.

Both are FA to be. So it's a rental each way. Let's do it.

Didn't say it was informative. I never waste an opportunity to laugh at them and find this kind of wishful thinking that we'll be sellers and a desire to trade for veterans from the hated Astros amusing. Buncha hypocrites.

that approach always works for the Dodgers

teams bend over backward to give LAD whatever it wants

There you have it. A two line post on TexAgs has more depth and substance than an article in the New York Post. They might as well say the Yankees are interested in Altuve and Alvarez. We have some MTA tokens to trade.

I don't get that, either. The Dodgers have a tendency to way overpay for players (Ohtani) while hoping they can kick the financial burden down the road that maybe they'll be able to pay in 20 years? That's some Enron level financial chicanery right there, and the MLB PA is all for it until a team goes bankrupt and can't pay the balloon note at the end.

Jeez, I was way off on his age. My bad. But still, I don't know if I like adding someone new when the team is still playing well. Not to mention that the rules changes, especially on the bases, seem to be pushing the game back more towards station to station play a bit.

i still would prefer to stand pat. The offense has been a lot of fun lately, and Meyers and Yuey are a big part of that. Unless there's confidence of signing Vlad to a new deal, I think you're giving too much away.

Plus, any player who weighs within 25 pounds of what I weigh is immediately suspicious of turning into a fat-ass overnight and being worthless.
