As someone pointed out, he has played 2 major league games at first. I don't know where this idea comes from that he's this incredibly experienced first baseman. If we want someone else at first, why not Carantini?

Who said he's experienced? He's just a better hitter right now and his versatility suggests he'd be fine as a fielder

I think the preference is to play Doobie for someone who isn't hitting.

Given Abreu's struggles in the field now, why not put Doobie at first? You're sacrificing defense when you put him in center. I'm not advocating he be the long-term solution, but a spot start there should be fine.

One of the disappointing things about the Framber injury is that he had his best start in quite some time (other than the no hitter against Cleveland's triple A team last year) before he went on the shelf.

Getting JV and him back at least ends the need to call up Corpus pitchers to be shelled.

Things didn't work out with the last guy. Been seeing Jeremy off and on for a couple months. Was at Spring Training with him.

I still don't know why Yordan can't learn to play 1B or someone else for that matter. Given Yordan has been good in LF, maybe we look into Chas at 1B? Then we could get Dubon's bat and glove into the lineup at 2B and DH Altuve. Seems like the ideal lineup at home specifically.

No, people want his bat in the lineup, but recognize Jake is a great defensive CF and has been playing decently on the offensive end too. He still needs ABs.

Dubon was supposed to be our utility guy, but how many games has been utility?

That's what people want - to be used in his utility role to help keep guys like AB, Peña, Yordan, Chas, Tucker, and Altuve fresh.

He should still be able to get ALOT of ABs as a utility guy.

I think the idea is that if Dubon can play 3B, SS, CF, and 2B he can likely play 1B which is the simplest of the positions to play other than LF.

So this is how it's gonna go today.
