Would be a cheap extension we could do and get a couple of extra years, added to it. Buy out the arbitration and then add a couple of years of decent money.

After what happened with the Javier and LMJ extensions, I would hope they would have learned to wait and see 2 good years in a row before handing out more money

I'm kind of over the pitcher extensions. He will inevitably miss one of those seasons with TJ. It's the sad reality of baseball these days. If he does give you a strong 3 seasons then take the pick and wish him the best of luck.tjack16 said:

If Crane is going to spend, I think someone posted some better options than Bellinger in the last couple weeks.
No way we give Bregman 7/185. It's a lower AAV with the extra year but I can't see that contract happening.
Personally i dont care for Jim Crane. butI think he is by far the best owner we have ever had. I think he is committed to signing the best players he can. If he wasnt he would sell the team. He is not here just to watch a mediocre team. I think we get Bregman back. I think he signs a outfielder. I think Tucker is gone. I think we get a first baseman.

I'd just buy out the 3 arb years and then try to add 2-3 years. So like a 6 year extension like they did with Bregman, Javier and Yordan.

I didn't realize Cole had an opt out. Given his defensive lollygagging and the fact he missed most of the season with an elbow issue, is pretty ballsy/arrogant to pull the ripcord. If the Yankees call his bluff and don't pick up the option, then he may not get a better contract than he has.
