The biggest moment of Alex Bregman’s career happened last week when he crossed the Baines line to join club 38.8.

Can any of them consistently throw a slider in the opposite batter's box? If so, we are doomed.gambochaman said:All I do is Nguyen said:We own Darvish, Cease can be scary thoBeat40 said:Good, means the Astros sweep!W said:

None of those guys have ERAs over 4, so we should score 10-15 runs each game

Former Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt will be at The Woodlands Spec’s (25010 I-45 in Spring) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday signing bottles of his Houston 44 bourbon. Then he’ll be at the Westin downtown from 2-4 p.m. to sign jerseys and cards, etc.

To me, says that is a result of plate discipline. Make the pitcher be accurate to the zone, which is fourseamers and curves.Farmer1906 said:

10. Meyers - 28.3%
17. Pena - 27.6%
26. Diaz - 26.6%
43. Altuve - 25.1%
...
90. Alvarez - 19.6% (Lowest on team)
Yordan is also extremely low on Sinkers. He's attacked more so with Fourseam & Curves. Random but interesting to me.

The counterargument is "there wasnt anyone else in the NL to give it to."Farmer1906 said:
I think his 10 gold gloves help his case.
I do like the general idea that if the numbers are there, or are very, very close, and they were the best player at that position for a decade for their generation, that player should be HOF.Mathguy64 said:The counterargument is "there wasnt anyone else in the NL to give it to."Farmer1906 said:

But yes his defense is elite.
Even better comp. Scott Rolen. Why should Rolen be in over Arenado? I am coming from a neutral position. I don't have a strong feeling about Arenado. I just think he'll get in.Farmer1906 said:
If he's done then probably no. If he can manage 3-4 more years as avg player, He'll get to 2200+ hits and 375 HR. Compare him to his peers in the HOF at 3B and its close. Kind of Tony Perez lite.

I didn't think Rolen should have made it either.

Taking Beltre out of that list since he's older, Arenado and Machado are the best of the bunch for me. They've been the most dominant both offensively and defensively for the past decade. I think Devers might end up the best offensively, but I'd still give the edge to both Arenado and Machado because their defense is so damn good.Farmer1906 said:Mathguy64 said:Farmer1906 said:Even better comp. Fair take. I think it's just how weak the position is overall. High high end but not much after it.
The last 10+ years we have a pretty great crop. Arenado, Chappy, Breggy, Ramirez, Beltre, Longoria, Wright, Machado, Donaldson, Turner, & Devers.
