We aren't going to be able to limp into the playoffs. The mariners are a good team. And with how the schedule is setup people need to button up because it's going to get closer.

The new coach is literally a "special advisor" and occasional color commentator for the mariners. It's the equivalent of firing our manager and hiring Bagwell. Or when the colts hired Saturday.
Maybe they catch a spark, but I'm not worried about them sustaining anything.

If we're not careful we could find ourselves only up 2-3 games at the end of this road trip. We really need at least a split against Baltimore
To have a lead of less than 5 on a team that just fired its coach after falling ro .500 reflects on how many chances this team keeps blowing. Last night an obvious one, but 3-3 against both Sox teams being worse.
Have you seen our outfield, we no longer have the lineup of years past. Pair that with how many games our bullpen blew for us early in the year, and I'm a bit suprised we are in 1st.Beau Holder said:

digging into his splits...
he's had 98 at-bats with a runner on 1st and less than 2 outs...98 AB's where the GiDP was in effect
and 19 times the opponent has gotten the double play ball -- approximately 20% of the time

We traded Valente Bellozo for Amaya when the Marlins DFAd him in April. Bellozo has proceeded to move from AA to debuting for the Fish in July. Not a hard thrower but only 1 poor outing and has faced KC, Boston, Cin, Phi, Atl, and NYM.linkdude said:Astros moves today:
