That should be looked at but the story now is that all the quotes are coming from the interpreter saying what Ohtani supposedly said.

Yeah, I think teams are starting to take notice about how we and the Braves did it to start where we extended our young guys earlier and then let them walk when they hit free agency. The Braves have obviously done a better job of that but I think about how we extended Bregman and Yordan as examples
We have extended Altuve 2 or 3x, Alvarez, Gurriel, Bregman, McCullers, Javier, Verlander, and made offers to Keuchel & Correa. We haven't been paying guys for 10 years after their rookie seasons, but over the last decade Crane has done an excellent job keeping a good amount of players thru their prime without paying the backside.
He's made a few more recent mistakes paying for old guys, but they're been fairly short term.
