Don't see a reason to extend Peña or Diaz at this point. Peña seems like a solid player but not someone I want to be married to. Diaz needs to show he can be an everyday catcher. You extend them if you can project them to be good players before they really take off. If you wait until a few years into arbitration, they money gets crazy and close to market value. Or they just want to test the market.
If Pena shows he hit a little in April-May (good batted ball data) I would see if you can tack on a year or two. Yainer, I would wait on just a little longer. You gotta figure out if he's a catcher long term of part time catcher.
