The list of crappy players that have had great contract years is very long with many of them being worse than Bregs.

Money is phenomenal motivator

Here is MLB Network's Schedule for the rest of the top 10s.

Thursday: Shortstops
Jan. 16: Right fielders
Jan. 17: Second basemen
Jan. 18: First basemen
Jan. 24: Left fielders
Jan. 25: Center fielders
Jan. 31: Third basemen
Feb. 1: Relief pitchers

Pena is probably falling short on Thursday, but Tucker, Altuve, Chas, Alvarez, & Bregman should all make a list easily. The only question is will Aberu or Pressly crack the top 10 for RP.

I sure wish YTTV would get MLBN back, or there would be some other way to watch it regularly again.

MLBN has been off youtube TV for over a year now. I don't think it's coming back, even though it absolutely should. When the trade deadline rolled around, I got a week trial to FuboTV just so I could get MLBN.

Something I didn't realize with Hicks is after the trade, he ditched the slider & change up altogether. In 2022 the slider was 31.6% & change up was 2.6%. He basically replaced those with more sinkers, a new sweeper, and an occasional 4 seam (he's always had).

The sweeper has some serious success. .241 wOBA, .217 xwOBA, 59.5% whiff, & 59.2% K. It's the hardest thrown sweeper (86.8 mph) in baseball.

Gets Yandy to chase in a big moment.

Freezes Judge

Beats Arraez in the zone.

Edit:

But it wasn't perfect. It was put in play for hits just 6x all season.

Got the $6 increase notice from Fubo which should put me over $100/month.

Which other streaming platforms carry the Astros Network and what are you paying?

Ughh I so wish they would do direct to consumer. We watch little tv but keep it on as background noise and it would be nice to have the games on.

I got the same notice but I'm only at like $70-80/month. Still better than $330/month (included home security) with Xfinity

Fubo (I also received the $6 increase email) and $25/month for Verizon 5G home internet

I just switched to DirecTV Stream from Uverse. Uverse is being phased out and they wouldn't give deals on it anymore. Looks like DirecTV Stream will be $108/month after my initial deal for a few months. I think that is the cheapest package they offer with Space City Home Network.

This is the way. The DirecTV app has come a long way in the last year. Didn't have any issues streaming the Stros on my FireTV/DirecTV app last year. Bit of a delay, but no complaints about resolution or buffering.

I do internet only through XFinity in the off-season then switch back to a cable+internet plan once spring training wraps up. I also use my work login for YTTV at home.

If they ever added the channel as part of a package or a la carte to YTTV it would be amazing for me. I personally paid for the NFL Ticket package as an add-on and its been great.

Hopefully, they can do deals with vesting options (Verlander, Neris, & Pressly both had them). Maybe that was a Click thing, but it seems effective.

Years seem to be our problem with just about everyone (except Abreu and Montero…), whether homegrown or free agents. And I get why, but I'm afraid of the potential that the entire market may trend too far away from Crane's strategy soon.

Yeah, but the Yankees will probably counter and give him the years he wants without the options.

I wouldn't be so sure. Yankees are usually stubborn when it comes to their evaluation. They offered less for Judge than SF & SD. They offered less for Yamamoto than NYM & LAD. They straight up didn't go after a ton of big names the last several offseason. These aren't your Yankees of old.

I'll also add that Hicks wants to play in Houston next year. We'll see if they're able to work it out.
