"First thing is to find a backup catcher for Diaz"
I'll be interested to hear how Diaz responds to this transition. I don't remember the reason behind his apparent lack of interest in past years- was it the catching position specifically, or defense in general? I know Ketch indicated that he really committed himself to learning the job this past year... I just hope this news causes him to double down and not coast.
And that is 100% speculation. I have zero reason to think he'd slack off, other than his attitude some years ago. I expect he'd be all in, I just look forward to hearing about that in a couple of months.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
