I think our #1 priority should be an outfielder (LF or CF). I'd target Gurriel first, but his latest success and the potential to be a WS champion may drive the price up too much. Meadows is someone I haven't thought about but you bring up some good points (although he hasn't really played the past 2 season). He has basically been a complete no-show for Detroit the last 2 seasons thanks to a mix of injury, COVID, and mental health problems. Once again, TB dominates a trade after a monster year for Parades. I am sure Detroit is ready to move on from him. From 2019-2022 he is 20th in all of baseball in wRC+ vs RHP. In that 4 year snapshot, he's ahead of some big-time lefty bats like Ohtani, Ramirez, Schwarber, Yelich, Olson, Nimmo, Seager, Reynolds, etc. Next year is his age-29 season. He screams low-med risk, high reward. He'd help keep payroll down so Crane/Brown can spend it on pitching.

I have absolutely no idea why and what made it come about... BUT I had the craziest dream last night that the Astros had a throwback home series inside the Astrodome. I woke up around 3am and was super confused.

I'll say again. The Astros aren't spending 15mil + on an OF which is our deepest position in the minors.

come on now farmer. "Why not" is more of an emotional reply. You're a data and analytics guy. What would make you think we would trade Dubon, especially with how cheap and controllable he is.

I could absolutely see a short term (1-2 year) signed at around 15 M a year.
Crane is either going to make 1 minor signing or he's going to break new ground payroll wise. This is the largest we've had going into any season. Either he's in or he is fine riding this out as is. I kind of double he half way dips his toe in.

If you're talking about the 0-2 pitch it looked a little low on the side shot. The 2-2 was a ball on the k zone but looked closer from the overhead….
