Last 3 champs won off of stellar bullpens.

Hopefully that means we shore up on pitching this offseason

Do they get an asterisk for bringing in a known cheating pitcher aka Sticky Fingers Scherzer who obviously shared his talents with the rest of their pitching staff?

We all know how seriously their fans take cheating.

So what changed for their pitching in the postseason? I'm sure that will be studied for a bit. Quite impressive

Seems fairly apparent the Stros are probably celebrating B2B titles right now with a decent manager at the helm, much less Bochy. Good news is we can now officially retire a season that began, proceeded, and ended extremely meh and go ahead and get a new manager in hopefully short order.

It's only overpaying if you don't win.

An AL West with the last 2 WS champs in it now. This is gonna make this rivalry really good.

I hope this lights a fire under our guys and FO that we need to punch back.

Crane needs to **** off. We did it his way this season and look where that got us.

If I'm Dana I tell Crane that he brought me in to be the GM. I put up with a donkey for one season, now I get to pick my man. If not, I'm out.

I really hope Crane doesn't decide to hire another older manager after watching Bochy win another one.

I felt like Make Maddox and Bochy are old true baseball heads . They would pull guys but they also let guys work and for whatever reason it worked out.
They had awareness of what each pitcher was working on pregame and could do in game
Bochy would gripe at the Umps during challenges and it kind of reminded the Umpires to not mess around on called strikes.

Accountability to pitchers and umpires

Of course good luck or blessings are needed each at bat as well to get outs

So I think playoff baseball post 2019 has proven that the division championship really doesn't mean much. The key is just to get in. So next year that's what I want.. just get in.

This is now 4 years in a row where a division winner was ousted in the playoffs by another team in their own division

2020: A's won AL west, eliminated by Astros

2021: Rays won AL East, eliminated by Red Sox… Giants win NL West, eliminated by Dodgers

2022: Braves won NL East, eliminated by Phillies .. Dodgers win NL West, eliminated by Padres

2023: Dodgers win NL West, eliminated by DBacks
Braves win NL East, eliminated by Phillies
Astros win AL West, eliminated by Rangers

AL Playoff this season: Home team record of 4-14, outscored 99 to 56.

Don't know if that kind of disparity will ever be repeated.
