I'm bored and thought this could be a fun topic.

If you had to pick one active player (any position), who would you pick?

I thought about starting pitcher, but they're only playing every 5 games or so.

My pick would be Ronald Acuña.

What's the timeline? Next five years, ten years, fifteen years? That changes the answer significantly.

If I'm looking short term I'd take Ohtani, best hitter in the league and also going to give you at least some elite innings on the mound. Also hard to pass up Mookie Betts if I'm only looking for 4-5 years of production.

10 years... either Acuna or maybe even Juan Soto.

15 years, I'm all in on Jackson Holliday.

If MLB and all the baseball teams went belly up and a new league started next year. You're one of the owners. You have the first pick in the draft.

I think it would have to be Acuna with Ohtani as a close 2nd

Do you consider the contract length and dollars left or is that all thrown out the window?

If we keep the current deals it's Acuna. Not even close.

If the royals play their cards right, they can build a solid team around Witt Jr. He's going to be a star.

Ohtani is too big of a circus in my opinion. That's hard to manage for 162 games.
