Now here's some irony. I had never heard of Urban Shocker until this morning. He's described in a book I'm reading. In spite of his obscurity he was the best pitcher for the best team in history, the '27 Yankees. He suffered a finger injury while young that left a finger deformed and helped him throw a wicked curve. Sadly he had a serious heart condition that led to his death shortly after the 1927 season.

My contribution is Tony Suck, a catcher for three different teams in old National League during the mid 1880s. And yes, he did. During a three year career he batted .151 and had about as many errors as games played.
