We're getting two hit by guys who should be stock boys at Walmart.
He doubled alright...strikeouts.Proposition Joe said:
Would love a Garcia double here.
We should've punted the one in San Francisco against their ace. It seems like we face every teams ace now a days anyway.bmac_aggie18 said:
I get we need to punt games but why not do it against a solid team where we don't have as good a chance of winning? Would really help gain ground when we beat teams were supposed to beat.
Reminds me when we punted that game against the cardinals, opting to not sweep them so that we could go all out for a road series in Tampa where the rays actually shuffled their rotation to give us all their good pitchers.alvtimes said:
A's have 6 wins against AL West teams in 23
3 have come against Rangers..Ugh! Saw this coming when lineup posted.

Worst nemesis.
... or maybe that's my BAS still lingering over John Hessler. Hard to tell sometimes...
Yeah we all hope so. The unfortunate reality is all we can do is sit and wait until 9 pm Friday night and the lead could possibly be down to 1.5 games by then. Although I'd say that's very unlikely that the O's get swept in their own park.Danny Vermin said:
The Orioles are winning the next two games against the trash cans so we will be fine.

Good points man. Maybe it's possible he doesn't want to kill a teams confidence if you punt tough games? Can't imagine that would make me feel too good as a player if he gave away games against the Astros, Rays, Orioles etc.

I completely agree with resting against good teams if needed and not mailing it in on game three against a bad team just because we "won the series". All the wins count the same and at this point it's about just getting to the post season and racking up wins. So I try to get inside Boch's head. Could it be that he feels "going all out" against the good teams better prepares a team for a postseason run? Does focusing and playing your starters throughout the tough series give them something to revert back to during the postseason grind? I don't know I am just trying to find the reason for this strategy because it has driven me crazy all year and Boch obviously knows baseball better than I do.

Just don't get the wisdom in sending out that lineup when Wednesday is a day game. Followed by a day off Thursday and Friday is a very late night game.
