Thread prediction- no Astros fan will pick the Rangers to make the playoffs, and no Rangers fan will pick the Astros to win the WS.


Season prediction-

AL East: NYY
AL Central: Cleveland
AL West: Houston
Wild Cards: Seattle, Toronto, Tampa Bay

NL East: NYM
NL Central: St. Louis
NL West: San Diego
Wild Cards: Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia


ALCS: Houston over New York
NLCS: Atlanta over New York
(MLB cries all offseason about missing a subway series)

World Series: Houston with the revenge win and a glorious expansion of the trophy room

I'm conditioned to expect the absolute worst for my favorite team, the Rangers, so playoff talk might as well be talking Mandarin to me. But I do admit that they have a chance to be good IF they get the rotation to pitch up to their capabilities. But we aren't better than the other three teams in the AL West that are trying…maybe close to the Angels, but not the M's or anywhere near Houston (nobody is). I will say that Seattle, Texas, and the Angels may take the San Diego approach, which is be good enough to make the playoffs, with the idea that beating the best team in the league over 5 games instead of thinking you can beat them over 162. The Astros are beatable in that timeframe, like the Dodgers have been. But the hope is to beat them over a short series, if possible. But again, that's not even on my mind as a Rangers fanI just want to see us get to .500 again and not be 10+ games out of first place at Memorial Day again.

That said, I still think the Astros will win it all again. They're better than everyone else when healthy, when they care who they are playing, and they have the experience.

Who gives a stinky crap what you think, "Rangers Fan." That's the most bush league crap I think I've ever read, and I learned how to read at three (3) years old. Beta mentality. Sucking up to the other fanbases that you are one of the "cool" fans? Hit the road.

Most of my division winner predictions are on life support a third of the way into the season. Woof.
