He allegedly hurt his hand on an attempted steal in the final game before the All-Star break against the Rangers.
The innuendo is that by participating in the Home Run Derby it aggravated his injury necessitating him missing the Astros games (and however many after). However I doubt he would have participated in the HRD at the time if it was bothering him.
Sucks for Mariners fans regardless.
