I agree with your assessment of the new ballpark. I don't care for it but if the revenue is used to make the Rangers a contender, then I can deal with it.

We don't yet have what we need to be competitive yet but I think we are getting there. We have some young, cheap, controllable talent. Now we need an ace in the rotation probably a mddle of the rotation guy and wait for more of our young pitching talent to make the big leagues.

The moves made this week show me that the owners are trying. With the right off-season moves this fall, we can compete for a Wild Card spot next season.

I was a STH for the Stars for 10 years. 8 of them were full seasons plus Platinum parking.

Since giving them up, I've been to about 5-10 games. Went to the Stanley Cup game this past season and it piqued my interest, but at the end of the day, it just doesn't do it for me, anymore.

Well, well....guess what I've been saying about CY taking control of things was accurate.

DallasAg may be mixing himself a cocktail as we speak....
What am I going to ***** about now?!

Bet I'll find something.

So since JD is gone, can CY get us a new TV crew? Complete enema.

Cannot begin to describe how in favor of this I would be. I would very much enjoy a regular play by play guy who doesn't sound like he's reading from a phone book and can tell if a ball is gone at least 20 feet before it's over the fence

Sean Murphy has the feel of another rangers killer. Pretty sure half his HRs this year have come against us

I've really enjoyed Emily Jones over the years, but it's time to pass the baton.

It just doesn't make any sense for Brad Miller to keep getting ABs. Close your eyes and pick l'irralit any batter in the minors and bring him up

I'm all for Jung getting the call and playing every day going forward, but he's still only played 7 games at AAA and 15 overall this season. I'd assume they likely want him to get a few more games and at-bats with RR.

Good for him. In order for us to have any prayer of catching Houston in the AL West, he needs to play at the same level as Alex Bregman. Bregman was a rookie at 22, a 2 time all star by 25. Jung might be 25 before he even plays an MLB game is and way behind schedule. Nice to see him finally healthy, but so far he's been an enormous disappointment as a 1st round pick.

This is a pretty bad take. Yes, he's behind schedule...covid year and two unrelated but back-to-back injuries. But he's hit the cover off the ball everywhere he's been, and will likely be up with the Rangers by next week (or sooner).

As for the part about catching Houston, that's hyperbole. He doesn't need to be "at the same level as Alex Bregman". Bregman has a great team around him. The Rangers had one of the greatest shortstops in MLB history and stunk. One player doesn't make (or break) a team. Jung needs to perform well at 3B, and the Rangers need to get more good players around him. One OF position has to be addressed, and I personally wouldn't mind getting somebody who isn't a block of marble to play at 1B, letting Lowe DH.

Bregman, BTW, had two outstanding seasons back to back in '18 and '19, but otherwise hasn't been exceptional. This season is a perfect example....hitting .258 with 16 HRs and 66 RBI. Solid numbers but hardly generational. If you are saying Jung needs to produce like Bregman has this season, I think he will and then some. I don't necessarily think he'll put up numbers like Bregman did in his best two seasons...but again, with the right pieces around him, he won't need to.

Bregman is right on cue tonight. Maybe he cheated his way to 2 all star game appearances. There isn't a GM in MLB that wouldn't take Bregman over Jung. Don't know about 24 year old players who can't stay healthy. Hope he is permanently past that and not just a fragile guy. But he's got a really long way to go.

Of course there isn't a GM in baseball who wouldn't take a two time All-Star and proven everyday player over a prospect who hasn't played a game at the big league level.

Bregman will get $30M for each of the next two seasons.

There isn't a GM in MLB that wants to pay $30M for .258, 16 HR.

He ended 2018 as an AS and MVP-5 and 2019 as an AS and MVP-2.

For those 2 yrs: 313G he hit .291, .409 OBP, 72 HR, 88 2B, and 215 BB. (4.35 G/HR)
Since then, in 247G he is hitting .260, .358 OBP, 34 HR, 59 2B, and 132 BB. (7.26 G/HR)
For the 2 years before: 204 G, .279, .342 OBP, 27 HR, 70 BB (7.56 G/HR)

Kinda makes you wonder what changed...

I think Jung gets called up this season and is likely a starter for us next season onward, which would put him at 25 for his first full MLB season. I don't think that makes him ancient or washed up at all. All the guys drafted ahead of him made their MLB debut this year if memory serves correctly. He seems slated to do the same thing

Let's not forget that he was slated to be the 3rd baseman this year and then got injured. He would otherwise be going into his 2nd season at age 25.

Few things more miserable than living in Houston when the team you follow trails them by 30 games in the standings. For the 6th. Straight. Year.

It's disgusting and is the driving reason for my vitriol. I seriously hate my franchise right now. All the way down to the janitor at Gastonia.

And comparing Bregman to Jung is just silly.

One was the overall number 2 pick, the other was #8. That is worlds apart in baseball.
