Taveras has been really good since being called up.

I honestly could care less what Culberson's splits are. I want to see our young guys in high leverage situations. Not guys that are not going to be on this team in a couple years.
If only we'd had a switch hitter on the bench who hits a heck of a lot better than Culberson.

No ***** But Calhoun has been dreadful that last few weeks, against both LHP and RHP. PHing Culberson was the right move

The fact we're still having bullpen games in the 2nd Half should be a pretty good indication of where the FO is.
Time to sell-off. The sad part is, Perez is our best piece. If we trade him off, then he'll be a lot more expensive to sign as a FA.

I just don't see any purpose in trading anyone when all we would get is likely someone with little to no value, and would probably not be a part of the team in the next 2 years

Yeah, unfortunately team is still 2 years away, and that's if everyone pans out.
But that's still better than a roster full of guys that you're not sure if they have a place on the future team or not... There's pieces here, just need to shore it up a bit for next season and then maybe All Star Break 2023 is when we make our big trade move to open the window.

Trading Perez is pointless. He's on a one year deal, we'll get nothing in return.

I'm not necessarily in favor of trading him, and draft pick compensation made things significantly different back then - but Rangers gave up talent that was decently high in their system for Gallardo, Dempster and Matt Garza -- all in the last year of their deals.
I disagree but it all depends on what we do this offseason

Different era. Organizations place a much higher value on control now, and are far less likely to give up good prospects for players in their last season before free agency.

I think it's DFA time.
He had a solid month across 9-10 appearances where he seemed like he was finding his way, but yes, this is his 3rd dog**** outing in a row.

Back to booth talk, I'd keep CJ, make him the PBP guy, and find a good analyst he would have chemistry with. Raymond is terrible. Not a fan of Murphy. McLemore is a stiff. PBP isn't rocket science.
I like CJ as well. I loved TAG but I think he's on his way out because he's getting older. Mac isn't terrible either but I agree they need a PBP guy.
