Yeah, having a day game after he had the HR Derby and All-Star game makes giving him a day off a pretty good idea. He was really hot heading into the All-Star break, so hopefully he can pick up where he left off.

Oh I definitely agree and am purely speculating. I kinda felt that way when they kept him at 3rd and sent Zeke back down. I may be wrong, but I thought Zeke was better at 3B. I just figured that maybe they're wanting teams to get a look at Smith playing 3B everyday in case they were in a position to make some trade deadline moves.

Note on Miami's/Florida's stadium. I am glad they got rid of that horrible green

It looked like Culberson was slotted to play 2B and my comments were... If Seager is taking the day off (worth him being at ASG and HRDerby), we needed to showcase a talent and Culberson wasn't it.

Well, Ezequiel Duran played 2nd.

He had 16 G this season (66 AB) already. This was the type of talent we should be marching out there.

He went 1/4, 1 R. He is hitting .258, 2HR, 17 SO in 17 G
He is 23.060 and our #3 Rangers Prospect. #56 Overall.

This season:

AA: 45G, 184 AB, .317, 7 HR, .365 OBP, 36 SO
AAA: 18G, 78 AB, .295, 6 HR, .329 OBP, 22 SO

Heavy on the SOs, but improving.

The next 2 weeks are going to be very interesting.

Trying to not be cynical. Rangers just need to keep start winning.

The reason we miss the playoffs is because we went 0-8 against the streaking Mariners and Orioles near the all star break. Never would have guessed that.

I'm completely fine with missing the playoffs this season. Next season is when I start getting twitchy.

What is up with our announcers this year? Other than the Rangers I watch the Braves and Astros the most. They have the same crew every single game. Meanwhile the Rangers have a hodge podge of:

The TV broadcasts leave a lot to be desired, mainly due to inconsistencies in the booth. Is this a Bally issue, or does the Rangers front office make these decisions?

I believe I heard that Tag is retiring after this season. That would be a great opportunity to overall the TV broadcasts. Pick a team in the booth and stick with them.

CJ needs to be there regularly.

I haven't been able to watch that many games this year but I gotta say I also hate the booth the announcers are in. From what I've seen it for some reason looks like the inside of a UFC cage

They clearly aren't thrilled with any of these guys, so IMO, that means you just need to fire all of them and start over. CJ is the only decent one of the bunch
