I didn't realize our second best pitcher/setup man has a 5+ ERA. Our manager makes really stupid decisions I'm the last three innings on pitching but is great everywhere else.

Is that 5-7 blown games now?

Huff doesn't have a ton of speed, but wasn't running like the game depended on it there.

Yep. King has been awful for the last month.

This team is desperately missing a set up man and closer. Hopefully LeClerc and Hernandez don't skip a beat when they get back soon.

Ouch, didn't remember that there was a day game today. Which from reading the above posts may have actually been a good thing . Just turned it on and I see Culberson pitching for the Rangers, so we are in surrendor mode now.

And of course Culberson puts up a 1-2-3 inning. Maybe we need to move him to closer

Why does the offense keep getting to skate relative to the pitching. The bats have been much worse than the arms. We put together piss poor ABs consistently. 16 more Ks today. Garbage.

edit: I won't say much worse. But it's not any better. And it's not like either are good.

As you can see there appears to be some improvement with the numbers. What caught my eye is last year we were at the very bottom when it come to hitting and this year we appear to be a little worse than the median. I don't have the time right now to compare first 61 games of 2021 vs 2022 to get a better idea of how we compare.

Where we rank is a lot better but our pace is only slightly better.

I wonder if hitting is just off to a slow start across all of baseball or if it's a down year. This will be interesting to track as the year goes on.

I think it's the non competitive nature of our ABs. Multiple times recently we've had a leadoff double who hasn't sniffed third base. Pop up and strikeout city.

To be fair only one is struggling vs their norm right now. Semien has really picked it up and has been hitting more like I expected. Seager is very concerning for me. His average is way down, he's never hit worse than .267 (2018). I wouldn't call the other 2 guys anything big. Kole is about what should be expected and Heim and Huff have been hitting equal to or better than Garver's career numbers. So he's not exactly someone I would miss or be concerned about.
