seems like it is going to be impossible to sign Verlander, Yuli, Brantley and give Tucker the extension. I think you have to sign Verlander with the type of season he had, even with our plethora of amazing young starting arms; Hopefully we can get him for 2/$80. I also think the next biggest need is to lock up Tucker. What do you think he would go for?

If Alvarez got 6/115; do you give Tucker, 6/100?

most MLB players don't buy homes in towns that play in if they don't live there.....rent or long term airbnb.

The ABC folks are just as cringey (other than Blum). I could just picture the one who excitedly said "It takes a DIVERSITY of talent" with some dumb look on her face thinking she made a deep point.
Most of these guys just started watching the Astros last week. Blum is awesome though.

He has 244 wins right now and wants to get to 300. If he plays 3 more seasons, he needs to average 19 wins per year to get there. He can do that easily with the team and bullpen Houston will put behind him. That is not a sure thing with an "up and coming" team. Also don't discount how much he values having Maldy behind the plate catching him.

They have an apartment off Kirby. Nothing that would remotely keep them here. They only spend time here in season.

He's not giving anybody a discount. He's already going to be in the hall. He's going to stack as much coin in his safe as he can.
