for all the **** dusty gets, he managed a near flawless postseason, from the 18 inning game to putting pressly in for 5 outs on thursday. aside from continuing to put diaz in and not pulling JV earlier, he managed great.

Harper had one hit since game 3. Love that.

Verlander
Bregman

The reason I remember LMJ for sure is becuase he threw eleventy billion straight curve balls to win the ALCS out of the pen.

Managed to get it despite the crooked system (however, i do not disagree that MLB has it out for the stros)Ag12thman said:
We have no chance with the unfair strike zone difference. MLB will get its way and eliminate the Astros with CROOKED umpiring yet again.

We saw it in 2019 with Grienke in game 7 also. Game of his life, allowed one hit through 6, gives up a HR and a walk in the 7th, is only at 80 pitches, and AJ pulls him. Everybody knew it was a mistake when it happened.Prosperdick said:It's something you see again and again, and not only with young managers. It's like they feel the spotlight on them and if they don't do something (i.e. change pitchers) people will wonder "what is he doing, why isn't he MANAGING."PoppaB05 said:
I honestly really liked Rob Thomson, the Philly manager. Made a rookie WS mistake and overmanaged. Wheeler was dealing. It happens. This was a flawed team and he got the most out of them.
You saw it with Dave Roberts in '17, Joe Gerardi with the Yankees multiple times, and then Servais with the Mariners. It's what I really appreciate with Dusty, he doesn't feel like he has to make a move just because and leaving Verlander in the game was a perfect example.
