His arm is only going to give you so much. I don't think he's ever pitched on short rest. He rarely gets 97 pitches in general. The club did as much as they could to keep guys rested in the season but 160ish innings is by far the most he's ever thrown in a season.

Start em, let him pitch the 4th-6th so Lance doesn't see the heart for a 3rd time, whatever. He'll give you everything he's got if we get out there.

So a pretty deep rabbit hole to dive into if you want.

Larsen threw his perfect game in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series over the Dodgers (Yanks won in 7).
Larsen was traded to the Colt .45s in 1964 and played with the team in its first year as the Astros, although he only pitched 1 game before getting traded to Baltimore.

Larsen's catcher was Yogi Berra, who was the Astros' bench coach from 1985-1989.

Obviously, Dusty was the Reds' manager in Philly for Halladay's NLCS no-hitter in 2010 and was the Astros' manager tonight at the same stadium.

Halladay threw a regular-season no-hitter in 2010 -a perfect game vs. the Marlins on May 29, 2010.

Javier threw the combined no-hitter vs. the Yankees on June 25, 2022. They're the only 2 guys to be the starting pitcher in a playoff and regular-season no-no in the same season.

The Astros now have 15 no-hitters in 60 years of a franchise. Four of those have come since 2019.

Javier is the first DR player to be involved in more than 1 no-hitter. Other DR guys to throw a no-no are Juan Marichal (vs the Colt 45s), Ramon Martinez, Jose Jimenez, Ubaldo Jimenez, Francisco Liriano, and Ervin Santana.

The Phillies also lost a combined no-hitter to 5 NY Met pitchers back in April. Before that they had not been no-hit since 2014 (Josh Beckett).

The Astros have only been no-hit 5 times, none since 2012. They had stretch of 28 years (1969-1997) without getting no hit.
