Make no mistake this can significantly benefit Philly.

Baseball is a long game and winning or losing over a season is based on pitching depth. It's not the same game when you only need 3 starters.

Our significant advantage just got largely neutralized.

I turned on Fox at 7p expecting to see the World Series and, hand to God, I thought the 911 show was some sort of attempted comedy parody ala Conan hosting the Emmys. That show looks awful.

Philly 1 and 2 starters had a week rest after the NLCS and we still put up 10 runs on them. I'm not buying this extra day does anything, because Astros will still mash.

I don't think the delay completely wipes out or pitching advantage, it just helps Philly because they can throw their better pitchers.

We've already shown we can hit Nola and Wheeler. I think the difference is getting 4-5 runs off a second tier starter compared to 3 off their top guys. Either way, we still hold the advantage. It just makes Philly a little stronger.

Just heard a report on ESPN saying the same thing; basically that this postponement significantly helps the Phillies pitching rotation. Didn't sound good.


I think we all know by now that ESPN will do whatever they can to make the Astros seem at a disadvantage.

One thing we aren't talking about. Will Smith gets buried in the bullpen depth chart with the extra day's rest. I think that swings the entire series in our favor.
