I don't think so. I think their situation is how to navigate 3 games in a row. Since one of their top 2 can't go, they were already giving their best food forward. Game 4 might be different though. In fact, it's probable that's nola

If they skip Thor then he would be the game 7 "starter"

My guess is they could postpone with no rain at the start of the game given confidence the later innings would be a problem. I am assuming neither team is interested in starting and stopping.

If it gets postponed, wouldn't that put us in the same situation as the Yankee series with no off day on Thursday?

To me it would mean you move Javier up to game 3 so he could go game 7 on short rest since Lance could not do that. If we went Lance then Javier, neither would be available game 7.

If we have to play games 3-4-5-6-7 in a row, the game 3 starter will have to go on game 7 on short rest.

This means they can go Saurez, bullpen day/Noah, Nola, Wheeler, Saurez on short test. That's an improvement from 2 full bullpen days.

We'd have to go Javier, McCullers, Verlander, Framber, & Javier on short rest. Its still better than them, but the gap gets a little smaller.

Framber & JV would not be. Realistically, LMJ would have to be an emergency situation. Who the hell knows how he would be on 2 days rest?

I thought Lance was bumped to GM 4 due to his elbow being bumped with the bottle?

Can he? Sure.

Do we want him to? No.

I think they trust Javier on a quick turnaround more so than Lance. You know he wouldn't back down. Doesn't mean he'd be able to give you much though.

I trust CJ on short rest more than LMJ. But I do think LMJ could give an inning or two (three?) in a Game 7 if he's needed.

He served up BP to the Phillies in a garbage time appearance in the last series of the season. I would be very nervous putting him out there. He hasn't seen game time in a month.

I still like the idea of jv 1 time through the order, then piggy back urquidy in game 5

It was also a game he didn't start.

But yeah, up 3-1 is kind of the scenario I had in mind. To me it would make some sense if you're up 3-1 and the bullpen is in halfway decent shape to go ahead and pitch Urquidy and then you get the off day before going back to JV and Framber for games 6 and 7.

That's probably overthinking things, but I think Urquidy is a good enough starter that you're not just throwing the game but it also sets you up better for games 6 and 7.

He also hasn't pitched in nearly a month. That's tricky.

I just think it might be worth a shot since Verlander has been hit and miss anyway.

But that's decision like #205. Need to see what happens in these next two games first. Just something that was bouncing around my head since people are talking about pitching.

Priorities differ by region and political environment.

The A's are going to Vegas, mostly because they can't get subsidy to replace the worst ballpark in the game. Nevada politicians are happy to play ball.

Well again, it depends on how the rest of the bullpen is set up. But part of my thinking is two extra days off might help Verlander, and it sets up the bullpen better behind Verlander for game 6.
