Would it help umpires to also have a pitch com unit?

Maybe if they know what's going they can know what to expect and where to look. But maybe it creates a bias.

I don't know. Just a thought.

both played on losing teams (i.e. no pressure) for a long time.

Mancini joined a team that had the division locked up. All the pressure was on him in Baltimore when they were trying to make the playoffs for the first time in like 5 years.

Regardless, Mancini outplayed him and cost less.
