Man the Mariner must really be feeling themselves since they're making t shirts just for an ALDS series
No matter what!
Epstein didn't do, you know, the thing...
I'm the rare Astros/Cowboys/Spurs fan. We do exist

Dude, it's their first playoffs in 21 years...they have to live it up. It's cute in a pathetic sort of way, similar to the Rangers always thinking they will be relevant with the next big FA signing.

A lot of pitchers in the playoffs still that Altuve has in his book. Some multiple times... This was fun to watch...

Altuve and Bregman both said they want to be lifers.

Remember that time Seattle fans said the Astros would be rattled by big moments and the atmosphere there and we swept their candy asses?

That was cute.

What would it take to extend these guys.

The largest contracts (AAV) signed by a 35-year-old or older position player.

Manny Ramirez 2/45
Jose Bautista 1/18.5
Barry Bonds 5/90
Adiran Beltre 2/36
Victor Martinez 4/68
Derek Jeter 3/51
Carlos Beltran 3/45
Chipper Jones 3/42
Gary Sheffield 3/39
Adam LaRoche 2/25

Here is my stab at a fair deal for Altuve. 2/32 with 2 club options years at 12 M and 10 M. That would take him to his year 38 season. He would have a career earnings of 215 M. This would all depend on him gradually declining in 23 and 24.

Breggy is a different story. He'll hit the market at 31. He'll still be in his prime, but you can't pay him for what he did from 26-30. Guys like Bryant and Arenado have deals that pay them handsomely late into their 30s. I'd be willing to pay him at his current AAV for 1-2 years, maybe 3. I would assume he's not interested in a 2-3 year deal. Lower the AAV a little and tack on a year? 4/90 with a team option for 1/20. Not sure if that would work out.

There's a lot of off-season talk considering our fckn playoff run starts tomorrow.

What was the bigger altuve HR - #7 to tie up game 5 of the WS or #13 to win the 2019 ALCS?

Honestly I watch that walk off against Chapman more than any other post season clip.

Has to be 2019 off Chapman.

It's a split for me between that and bregman driving in fisher in game 5. That's the most electrified I've ever heard a crowd at the juice box

no way

the Maeda HR is my all-time #1

hit the f'ing HR pump

down 3 in a must win vs. tied in game 6 up 3-2 in the series

astros won it all in LA, astros lost every home game after the chapman bomb

Fair. I mean both were incredible. I guess for me in retrospect, walking off the Yankees to make the WS was the most incredible experience I've had minus winning the WS.

I had forgotten that Altuve's HR tied Game 5...so much happened in that game.

Yuli's 3-run HR to tie it up early on stands out more...that was a "OK, it's game on now" moment, because I think LA got out to a 4-0 or 4-1 lead

it's so good, but as someone who grew up always watching the Braves kick us in the junk in the postseason, this entire game had all the feels

I wonder what the odds are in Vegas for an Altuve Ambush in the 1st?

That was the first time I'd ever witnessed and been a part of mass hysteria. I've never seen or heard anything like that. I was physically damaged after that game - my hands were black and blue for days afterwards from slapping the seats in front of me, my left lung felt like it collapsed around the 8th inning from yelling (I now think I hyperventilated), my cousin damn near ripped my left nipple off at some point during the game, the two 70 year old ladies behind us left scratch marks on my neck from jumping up and down hugging me, and I couldn't speak louder than a whisper for 2 days. I gave them everything I had that night.

Now I'm fired up…..

It's pretty amazing how many of those were 1st inning bombs

If I were Seattle I would not throw him any fastball. I certainly wouldn't throw him a high fastball.

Oh second thought, do it. He can't hit that at all.

I wonder how he's going to handle watching the playoffs instead of playing in them. Poor Twins.
