No Urquidy in the pen. I think that's the right call, but it's a testimony to how elite the pitching staff is to leave him off. I don't see how he makes us better in a 5 game series.

I agree. To me it comes down to him or Brown. The only thing Urquidy has over him is experience. Brown has the arm.

Its been a 50-50 split. Maldy has actually been better than Vazquez since the trade. I 100% expect Maldonado for JV & LMJ.

Mancini or Diaz will likely occpuy the last lineup spot. They'll either be in LF or DH with Yordan taking the other spot. I doubt Gurriel is in consideration for the bench so Mancini can play 1st. Mancini has almost sucked as bad as Yuli.

Yup, everyone should be good to go minus Brantley.

Yes. But I'm interested to see if Vazquez gets a start in the ALDS and, if so, with which starter. Guessing Vazzy will get a few PH opportunities too.

granted it was back in April...

but the Blue Jays roughed up Urquidy pretty good in his 2 starts against them.

13 hits & 6 runs in 10 innings of work.

that may come into play if Toronto is the ALDS opponent

Vasquez is a great piece to have in late PH scenario.

I'd say that's more valuable than him having a spot start.

Looks right to me, but why would you start Jake vs righties?

I believe the belief is he is superior defensively...Chaz is better hitting vs lefties so he gets the nod there but there theyre both just ok vs righties Jake gets the start

True. As a whole they are the least educated professional sports players on a percentage basis due to the minors and draft rules. Doesn't make them all stupid, but there seem to be a lot more than other sports. I still remember that moron Blake Snell during COVID negotiations.
