Astros should be able to overtake the yanks over the next 12 games. Our schedule is much more favorable than theirs. Assuming we don't play down to our competition. At least the last 3 games the bats have been alive and we are dominating like we should be.
As long as we never play Oakland again we should be fine

Either some of your bolded stuff is inaccurate, or I'm stupid and I just don't get it. Maybe both!

I'm pretty sure they have 10 walk-off wins at home this year. They're a great team, but can you imagine if the Astros had 10 walk-off wins? "They're cheating again," "Check for cameras, "Something fishy's going on"

Unacceptable. Should have started the rebuild before the deadline.

The good thing about our next seven games with Oakland? We don't have to go back to that ****hole stadium and play in front of hundreds of fans. All of them are at home. You need home games and/of big crowds in the dog days to keep you energized.

I really do think that contributed to it, there was no juice at that place being basically empty. Then again, plenty of other teams had no problem waltzing in there and beating their asses.

I'm really pulling for the Orioles to win the last wild card spot.

One thing that would make me laugh would be if the Mariners make all those trades at the deadline and still don't make the wildcard spot. I hope it happens!

I never liked Servais and always thought he was a jackass but my hatred for him has grown exponentially this year.

Maybe ever again....

Would be a HUGE win for baseball and us Astros fans if they pack it up and follow the Raiders to Vegas

If they pack up and move to Vegas, I think their days of living cheap are over. You can't do that in Vegas and get away with it.

If Mancini stays on this pace , and he likely will not, this team is easily going to have the best record in baseball imo. Schedule sets up well for the Stros. Only concern is they play better against decent to good teams than they do vs bad teams.

Good thing 42 of the remaining 54 games are against teams who currently have a > .500 record.

Already hit a batter, has given up 3 hits and 2 runs in a third of an inning.

6 man rotation working like a charm. Will have one of the freshest staff come October. Love being ahead of the curve.

As for the Yanks, King is out and Holmes has struggled. 5 ER in his last 2 outings (1.2 IP) both blown saves. Woof. At least the have tons of starting depth… oh wait Sevy is on the 60 man and J-Mo now pitches for St Louis.

He was saying Astros play better against good teams than they do bad and assumed most of the games remaining we against all bad teams.

Other poster pointed out the remainder of games are actually against teams .500 or better.

Quick scan of the schedule and that seems about right at this point in time. Surprising because I also assumed most were below .500.

We play Bal, CWS, Min, Atl, TB, Phi. Including Cleveland today and tomorrow, it's 30 games by my count out of 54. That was higher than expected.

This is our biggest advantage relative to MLB and why no one will come close to us in the division for many years

My brain is not working correctly this morning and I keep adding the 14 games left vs Texas an the Angels as teams > .500.

With that said, the Astros have 28 games left vs teams > .500 and 26 vs teams < .500 records as of today.

Really wanna see today's lineup. Could be a good indicator of rift between Dusty and front office if Chas in CF or Mancini at 1B. Or maybe much ado about nothing.

Dusty will call Espada and dictate the lineup to him.

He's not on the team anymore. Can we please stop rooting for him to fail?
