Javier throwing a crapload of pitches. Wild or getting squeezed?
Mostly wild. Squeezed 2/3 times.Marvin said:

Yup. Already walked him twice. I don't blame him for making him hit it.redline248 said:
So?
really though, going to a full count and pretty much ensuring he's gotta throw a fastball to avoid walking a guy is the biggest problem
When he's right, he scares me more than any hitter in their lineupredline248 said:
By the way, does it seem like LeMahieu has been the toughest out for Astros pitchers when facing the Yankees?

Assuming Javier is done for the day, how do we guide this thing home? No Pressly.
Montero, Nerris and Stanek get 3 of the 4 innings assuming we stay in the lead. Who else?
That's what I'm wondering. Do we save bullets for G2 or fire them all to try and claim this one?EastCoastAgNc said:Deluxe said:

Seth Martinez for a few innings, one leverage guy. Save more bullets for game 2.
I'm cool with that. If it's Good Abreu, maybe he can give us two.Farmer1906 said:
99 pitches thru 5. Only gave up 1 run and 2 hits, but I think he's done.
I say it's time to hand it off to Abreu.
That's a coin flip. Either goes 1-2-3 for a couple innings or gives up 4 in 1/3Farmer1906 said:

21/28 games have been without an earned run. Several of those are multi-inning. Only 3x has he given up more than 1 run.redline248 said:That's a coin flip. Either goes 1-2-3 for a couple innings or gives up 4 in 1/3Farmer1906 said:

Just always assume my initial thoughts are not founded in any statistical basis. Abreu just gives off a certain "feel," but I do like himFarmer1906 said:21/28 games have been without an earned run. You're beating the only team in front of you in the standings and the game is half over. Have to go all in on this one. No idea what the next game will bring.Deluxe said:That's what I'm wondering. Do we save bullets for G2 or fire them all to try and claim this one?EastCoastAgNc said:Deluxe said:

Oh I knew you were being facetious. I still wanted to share the stats on him.redline248 said:Just always assume my initial thoughts are not founded in any statistical basis. feels like we have a handful of guys that, statistically, are very good...and yet none of us are truly confident when they take the mound. I guess the bad meltdowns just linger, foreverFarmer1906 said:Oh I knew you were being facetious. He looked pretty filthy that inning. We need that guy for the 2nd half.redline248 said:

Astros still lead 2-1 going into the bottom of the 6th as Phil Maton carves up the Yankees like his name was Dexter! pic.twitter.com/gP9E7tPPFM

For Abreu, I think its a combo of being less than reliable the last few years, the walks, and the blow-up vs LAA right before the break.
Besides walks, what is not to like about these #s?
