Big potential swing today.

If we sweep and go 2.5 back, I'll be very surprised if we don't end up with the best record in the AL.

If we split and stay 4.5 back, I still like our chances.

If we lose both and go 6.5 back, that will be a tough hill to climb.

Yankees have 53 games left against teams with playoff aspirations (ie teams over .500). We've got 42. Making life more difficult for the Yankees is the emergence of the Orioles.

Yankees have 32 homes games left. We have 40. We definitely have the advantage from here to the house.

My prediction is that we tread water for a bit after the break. Our schedule from now through mid August is tough. Starting with the homestand against the Twins on August 23, I think that's when we turn on the afterburners and hunt them down.

I havent really seen much in Boone, but they do make a good point about Dusty's track record of tactical decisions

But thats about it….without Dusty's snafus, we are looking at being 5-0 against the Yanks right now instead of 3-2

Good paywall article on ESPN right now about Framber, Urquidy, Javier and Garcia. Very rare for a group of four pitchers to emerge simultaneously like that.

The fact that we've been able to reel of ALCS/World Series appearances after losing Morton, Keuchel, Cole, Miley, Osuna, Harris, Rondon, Peacock and McHugh, all the while dealing with devastating injuries to JV/LMJ, is such a testament to those four dudes.

It's also a testament to this FO and their ability to evaluate and assess what they have. They're able to evaluate young pitchers so well they're comfortable enough letting guys walk.

Same for position players too.

They're good at what they do.

I was intrigued by the Christian Walker idea a few weeks ago because he crushes lefties, but I couldn't convince myself that he's enough better than Yuli to justify giving up a haul of talent for him.

I would assume Chas will play the field in game 2 and Yordan will DH. We get a LHP so we want Chas in the lineup.

Don't be shocked when the guys who played both ends of the DH don't play tomorrow.
