True but I think run likelihood would be similar with 1/2 no outs slightly more likely. It's the same reason most don't bunt in extras with the free runner.


Yeah. At this point I don't want an expected run table I want a probability table to maximize a very specific outcome. I'm sure they have one. Or they should. Maybe they will pay me to simulate one.

True. But at some point, you need to make some attempt to see what you have. That's the thing about Dusty. He pitch hit JJ earlier this year with the game in the line when he had other options. It was the kid's first MLB AB. JJ failed in that situation. Why didn't he give Lee a shot? You know what you have in Diaz.

Not only should they have one, they should have one that weights it specially to the batter, pitcher, and match up.

With as much data as they have and how many nerds are on the payroll, they better.
