His free agency is going to be wild. Do teams see him as a two way player long term? Or do they think the risk is too great to offer him crazy money and just pray he pitches for years to come? Even if the pitching goes away five years from now, the hitting should still be there.
I kind of think he stays put. The Angels can pay market value to keep him so it wouldn't be the money, it's the loyal thing to do and Trout is doing same, his domestic fan base are Angels fans now like Yao's were the Rockets. He doesn't strike me as someone who's going to bail on the team to better his personal situation, as crazy as that seems when talking about professional sports.
Then again maybe that's me projecting and he'll surprise me.
