He chose to stay with the Angels when he hit free agency. There was a lot of hope that he would sign with the Phillies being close to where he grew up. Since he resigned the Angels have signed a lot of players that haven't performed to their expectations. Wish Trout had gone somewhere else where his MVP stats could result in playoffs. At this rate he may never play in the playoffs his entire career.
