Feel bad for Chas, but I love them keeping JJ up. He seems like the type of guy who could bring an impact bat for the rest of the season

My last thought is James Click trading a catcher who was DFAd after three weeks for a utility player in Dubon who will be on the roster for 4 years was truly a work of art.

Dubon is a totally different hitter against LHP - .823 OPS (.631 vs RHP)

Meyers (small sample) vs LHP .918 OPS (.656 vs RHP)

Hate to see Yordan on the bench, but hopefully 7-8 won't be as big of a black hole as usual.

I hate to say it, but as he's sneaking up on 30 y/o, it's time to be real about what Lance is and what he is not. I highly doubt he's ever going to be a 33-start 200 IP guy...especially if we are making runs where he might get 5 or 6 more postseason starts.

The money he's getting paid is fair for a guy that can give you 120 ace-level innings. They've got to figure out a way to use him in a way that maximizes what he can do without putting him on the shelf...because it's no longer good money for a guy who misses a season or big parts of it every couple of years.

I'm pretty surprised that Chas was sent down, though I don't hate it. How did his offensive numbers vs LHP compare to Dubon? JJ getting an extended audition will be a good follow.

If that's the case, my personal choice is to keep Siri. Better defense and all around talent, and he's younger (though not by much). Maybe he'll turn into an average hitter.

I'd probably keep Siri too. If nothing else just as speed on the basepaths for a potential October pinch runner.

Like if Yuli is the tying/winning run on 2nd base or something

even as our direct competition, it makes me sad that they're wasting the primes of maybe the two best players of this generation
