I'm going to be Mr Gloom. This is the offense. What you see is what you get. We have poor production at 1B, 3B, CF and C. That's tough as three of those should be offensive positions. It's not going to change unless the players change and the only real opportunity for that is New Jake in CF. And who knows what that will bring.

Maybe they are peaking too early but the Yankees are looking as good as some of the previous year's Dodgers teams have looked. That might not translate to October, but they are really rolling right now.
Astros finally emailed me after applying for the part time manual scoreboard operator position.
Mrs. Marvin and I will be in Omaha next weekend to watch our Aggies, and then head off to NY in two weeks to watch our (by then) rejuvenated Astros beat up on the Yankees and Mets.

Right now we have 1 to 2 good to really good right handed bats. One bats lead off and the other is stuck in the bottom third. If we want to optimize the lineup and bet L/R or R/L then the lineup should look something like this.

Not even close. I think people are taking for granted how great this run has been for the Astros. This isn't normal.

I'm not ready to say 2022 AB is "what he is", but league average OPS is .702 and his is .710, so he's certainly been mediocre and the MVP runner-up seems like a long time ago.
That said, 3b is our 5th best OPS out of 9 lineup spots this season. Obviously we didn't expect All-star performances out of some spots, but if we were just getting career averages out of C, 1b & CF we wouldn't be sweating 3b in the least.

All this Bregman personal hitting coach talk reminds me of a funny story:
I got to talk briefly to Lance Berkman when he was coaching high school baseball at Second Baptist. I commented to him that the kids must hang on every word he says to them and he laughed and said, "some do, some don't" and went on to tell me that some of the parents had asked him to back off the hitting advice because they had their own personal hitting coaches and were getting conflicting messages!
So if some little turd high schooler is listening to some used car salesman hitting coach who probably hit .235 in his one season at Weatherford JC over should be in the HOF Lance Berkman...
