Pressly is a stressful closer

Pressly has gotten key double plays in his recent outings (or needed key double plays)

I still think we have a good a shot as anyone, BECAUSE the pitching is that good. Even more so if McCullers comes back strong - will push a very good talent into the bull pen.

But if we're focusing on the offense - this team has great weapons but we just don't have enough of them clicking this year.

Expected stats seem to be slightly broken with the balls changing. Regardless, the difference between our xStats and the league avg is still enough where there should be a big correction coming.

Yordan Alvarez caught that TED curse this year. His gap between actual and expected is #5 in BA, #4 in SLG, & #2 in wOBA. One of the unluckiest players in the league.

It is just a matter of when. Isn't nice to be unlucky and still have a top 4 record in baseball, lead the division by 5, and be on pace to get a bye thru round 1. We're doing it without our co-Ace and top CF prospect.

What are the chances they bring someone into upgrade 1st?

I can't help but wonder if, and by how much, Meyers will improve the CF position. His limited stats last year put him slightly above Chas in the hitting slash. Thanks to last night Chas's OPS+ is practically the same as what Meyers did last year.

I guess, if anything, getting him back will bump the platoon up. Unless Siri turns into something more, he's going to see less time on the field.
