Funny this has come up because there's a group on Facebook dedicated to select baseball in the Houston area and it's a constant ****-show. But this past week there's been discussion of kids playing certain positions and frankly being too heavy to stay there long term. Predictably it's been a mess of "my little Johnny is a great 9U shortstop and he's a big boy, besides look at Carlos Correa- he's a big guy." And some people pointing out that little Johnny is 4'4" tall and 4'4" wide.

It's comic and sad at the same time.
Select baseball parents are an absolute ishtshow in general. Imagine the illogical meltdowns from on this thread from folks who haven't had a lifetime of baseball but now all of the sudden fancy themselves experts…now imagine all that angst directed at their own kids, who they look at as little investments that are one day going to get D1 full rides.

What an absolute clustermess.

I remember the blue seat with the star on it in right field marking that. Yordan's home run against the A's back in '19 probably would have rivaled that shot.

However the most impressive home run I saw in the dome was McGuire in '98, he hit in in the yellow upper deck seats which was insane.


Saw McGuire's shot myself. Was with a Buddy and both of us had seen a lot of games in the dome. We just stared at each other in disbelief.

Certainly you have to give it time to see how he takes to being on a different team. However, how bad ass of a loyal guy would you be to a team if you worked with them to get traded out for the last half of a season that your team isn't going to do anything in anyways so you can bring some more talent to the club then go back in FA after the season?
