I watch 100 or so games in the living room first pitch to last and another 20-30 at least part way. Last night I reffed soccer and didn't get home until after 10. I picked it up right in time to watch Yordan send the missile to the base of the wall and finished it to the bitter end.

Living in BCS and using DirecTV means I get ATT Sports so don't have to stream.

Obviously if I'm watching I'm on here too. Can't post timely tasteful lasses if I'm not online. Live-blogging a game is a very interesting phenomenon.

Obviously I watch every inning of every playoff game.

Maybe he is available after all. Thought I saw someone mention that he was on the IL and likely not available for trade

How do yall watch most Astros games?

-Watch pre game, then the game, sit and watch it completely every pitch
-Tune in at first pitch and watch passively sitting on the couch/recliner
-Flip back and forth while watching multiple games/tv shows
-Other, please explain

Myself I usually tune in about 30-40 min late, click on the recording on the DVR. I watch mostly every pitch but miss a few here and there obviously. 4 clicks of the 30 second button as soon as the final out and I'm back to the next half inning. This method usually allows me to watch the first 2/2.5hrs of the game in about 90min. and I am usually watching the last two innings or so live by then.
I do the DVR method too.
However I click once between pitches too. So I catch every AB/pitch, but miss a lot of commentary. If there's a hit I'll rewind and watch in full.

I need more than a 30-40 minute lead in to watch this way. Usually I'll start watching about 2 hours into the game. I also have to stay away from accidentally finding out the score.

That Podcast someone posted yesterday said he was injured and therefore not likely to move

MLB.com just posted an article ranking in order the likely Soto landing spots.

SD
LAD
NYY
SEA
StL
SF
NYM
TB
BOS
CLE
MIN
TEX
ChiCubs

So basically half the league. And not Houston. Frankly I'm shocked they didn't put LAA in there somewhere.

Glad im not alone. I enjoy listening to Todd and Blummer too much for that much.

I will however FF through the opposing team hitting if we are dominating them, stop and watch if I notice something happen while it is fast forwarding. I dont do that too often though.

Also add in that I watch live when were on the west coast since it is already starting so late, nothing else to do

It really would suck to see somebody like Javier leave while Odorizzi stays on the team

This is how yesterday felt for me.

As long as we get better (hopefully significantly better) after the deadline I'll be happy.

Just for fun trade idea:

Sounds like LMJ is on track and H Brown is on his way soon. Also sounds like we might be willing to part with Urquidy as a means to upgrade the club at the deadline.

I don't think we'd do Urquidy for Conteras straight up, but the Cubs wouldn't do Urquidy for Happ and Contreras. What if the following deal is being discussed:

Cubs get
Urquidy
Meyers
Yuli salary dump
A couple mid range prospects

Astros get:
Contreras
Happ
A Click-special Cubs middling reliever that we turn into a high leverage guy next year

Chas becomes our everyday CF (which he's earned). We makeshift LF until Brantley comes back. Leon has been hot recently and he can be part of that mix. Siri can be our defensive replacement OF in the playoffs to the extent we need one.

We're going to be taking a step back at 1B defensively regardless. Happ has played some 1B in the past and my guess is he can man the position as well as Bell (who is not known for his defense). Offensively he's almost as good as Bell and he kills LH pitching. He's also signed through next year.

IMO it's not much of a stretch to think Happ can play 1B. He's a super elite utility guy who can play almost every position and spent the majority of his time in Chicago with Rizzo at 1B, so he was never needed there.

Contreras becomes our time-share regular season catcher and Maldy crash courses him on our staff/game planning. We gauge his LF/1B abilities upon arrival and work his bat into the lineup however we can. If he earns the trust of our pitching staff/coaches, then we give him playoff starts behind the plate.

Pretty great, outside of resting Peña and Breggs. Not sure why we are putting any batter between Yordon and Tucker though.

During the regular season, I watch here and there but don't make it appointment viewing like I used to. For me, keeping tabs on the 162 game high level trends is more interesting than watching each individual game. I try to watch enough to make sure I'm seeing with my own eyes how certain guys look though.

I watch every playoff game in full and go to as many as I can. It makes me a nervous wreck though. I'm borderline Billy Beane in terms of how much anxiety playoff baseball gives me. Sometimes I question whether or not it's worth it.

(It's definitely worth it though)
That feeling is why I love sports.
Playoff baseball is the best and the worst of sports. The only thing that was ever close to me was the Rockets in 94-95, when I was 20 and 21 years old and would often assume they were never going to score another basketb / no team on the planet could beat them.

Having sat, often in person, through the Astros' god-awful playoff performances from 1997-2001, I remain in awe every time we win a game or even hit a home run. I also start counting outs remaining the minute we get the lead. Like if it's 1-0 in the top of the first. I'm like OK 27, ok 26 now.

I dearly love this thread in the post-season.

Dusty seems to be obsessed with batting terrible hitters in the 2 spot. He did it with Niko, now Gurriel.

Especially the way Bregs has hit the lefties this year. He is offering zero protection.

Yuli is 0 for 9 vs Irvin and Dusty's brilliant idea is to bat him 2nd lol

Which of Dusty's grandkids got to fill out the lineup card for their birthday today?

Happy Lance McCullers rehab Day

Side Note - He's pitching in Bricktown today. I love this ballpark. The Big 12 Tourney was such a fun trip. I wish the SEC would hold their tourney there.

Just listened to this interview. Sean is kind of hit or miss for me personally, but he killed this interview. He pressed Click on Brantley and asked questions about specific trade targets without saying who and getting anyone in trouble. Lots of good info if you can read between the lines.

Over/Under on combo of hits/runs/RBI from the bottom 4 hitters - I'm putting it at 2.5.

Not sure which part of this lineup is the most funny. I'm going to go with the Aledmys @ cleanup. Which means of course he's going yard and we score 8 or 9 runs.

I used to live around the corner from there. Got to see Springer, Correa and Singleton in that park.
