Who gets that taken out of their salary for missing the medical signs when we picked him up?

well, at least it was only $12 MM over 2 seasons

The hard part about the miss on Baez is we can't afford to blow $12.5MM over two years when we run close to the cap and tax limits.

On the other hand The Dodgers can blow $80MM on Bauer not to picture for 1.5 seasons and not care about any impact on the cap.

Exactly! And throw in what we owe to Odo when he is DFAed, or at least demoted to the bullpen, those two misses will cost us close to $30M over 2 years. This is why Click needs to share in the blame for our struggles so far. Would have been nice to have that money to keep Graveman/Raley or go after a FA. Instead we let Carlos dictate to us the timeline, and we lost out on other opportunities.

Click has nothing to do with Yuli, Tucker, Yordan, Altuve all sucking at the same time. That's why we're scuffling. No GM hits on 100% of the moves he makes and the Baez deal didn't hamstring us.

I mean, we did just throw Blanco and Mushinski, of all people, in a tight game with the Rangers. I guess Dusty might just be testing them in pressure situations (and, if so, they both failed miserably), but those aren't exactly the quality of RPs we need to make noise this year. Neris just blew a game against Toronto. Look, **** happens, and I have high hopes for Neris, at least. My point is that that money would have been better spent to solidify the back end of the bullpen, so we aren't having to rely on unknown and unproven RPs.

I do agree that all of this frustration will ease if (and when) they hit the damn ball.

Fair enough but that's on Dusty. I don't know who was available when but I can pretty much guarantee we're not depending on those guys as the back end guys.

Yeah Neris blew a game but that happens with RPs every once in awhile.

Our back end is Maton, Stanek, Neris, Pressly. Throw in Montero and Abreu if they can keep it going and that's as solid as a BP as you can hope for.

Also keep in mind some of these guys we're seeing are only on the team because of the expanded roster. They won't be up here much longer.

My overall point being we weren't depending on Baez and he didn't keep us from fielding a solid BP. Now Dusty's use of them can be up for debate but as far as Click assembling them I have no complaints whatsoever.

The other glaring thing about the Yankees letter is that Carlos Beltran clearly brought this sign stealing scheme using technology from the Yankees organization to the Astros and urged our team by saying we were behind the times. Because of what the Yankees were doing. None of this happens without the Yankees coming up with this. But WE take the fall, and no one will highlight this fact. Carlos Beltran won't even be mentioned either.
