Willie Stargell's pre-swing routine. I was on a LL team named the Pirates the spring after Pittsburgh won the 1979 WS. I played first base, too...seemed fitting.

I didn't pitch in any organized little league (I was an outfielder), but when we were Sandlot-ing or at practice I tried to throw like Dan Quisenberry.
If a coach or any one caught me doing it, I got an immediate "Cut that out!"

I'm so old that I never had video of how I looked on my swing but a few peeps nicknamed me "stretch" because they said that my swing & my length around the bag reminded them of Willie McCovey.

I played little league & made the All-Star team at several levels but didn't play in HS because the coach was a dick & the track coach recruited me to run track & made me feel that my being there was an integral part to the success of the team. I definitely wasn't a star on the track, either.

Would have much rather played baseball than run track, tho.
