No one is going to take on Upton's salary so he'll be a free agent. I looked at his #s and couldn't make a case to sign him. He's just declined so significantly over the last 4-5 years.

I don't see the point of signing him either. Unless we have injuries and put him in front of good hitters so you have to pitch to him.
Upton is 52 strikeouts short of 2,000 for his career. The pageantry alone is worth a signing. Hopefully the Yankees get him.

Not sure how I missed this, but it appears Andre Scrubb is no longer on the 40 man. Wasn't even at Spring Training. I'm really surprised he didn't even get an invite.
Didn't they need to clear that spot for Verlander?
Back in November he was outrighted to Sugarland. So they must have taken him off the 40 man and I assume that means cleared waivers?
He was on the 60 day IL, so I think most teams were going to avoid him.
