He can. He was a highly touted prospect that has never lived up to his potential. If he unlocks it this year, it would be great.

Brinson was taken 29th overall in 2012. That is ahead of Gallo, Berrios, LMJ, Jesse Winker and Mitch Haniger

Chazzy Fizz happened last year.

He was elite defensively.

He's pretty dang fast.

He was fine offensively. Didn't set the world on fire, but was avg to above avg. He only very slightly outperformed his expected stats.

He needs to work on his K%.

Why shouldn't he be the front runner?

He won the job last year with this stat line in spring.

He's not worth the draft pick you'd give up to get him. He won't accept a low AAV multi-year deal based on his 2021 play. No one is going to give him short-term at good money because they lose a draft pick and it's a risk.

Also, disclaimer... I think Conforto is better than his performance last year and I think Chas will come back down to earth a bit. I think Chas is a fine player, but I just don't see the potential in him that many Astros fans seem to see.

The only non K was a pop up the very shallow RF on an 0-2 count.

JV looks like he hasn't missed a beat. It's too bad he was out in 20 and 21. He could have been the difference.

Agreed, I just know a lot of people on this board are scared because of his 22 games above AA ball. Not sure if the Astros share the same sentiment or not.

I just don't think they have a choice. If now isn't the time then I'm not sure when they think it will be.

Plus like we've seen with young pitchers with little to no experience in the upper minors when they think they're ready and they need them they'll get the nod.

What Brinson is really playing for is to be the 4th/5th OF over Siri when Meyers comes back. Chas is clearly the organization's pick for center to start.
