He's paid millions and millions of $$. Surely he can afford to go to an ortho.tjack16 said:Ag_07 said:
Sounds fishy...
A) WTF was he doing when he fractured his wrist?
B) Guessing it happened recently or else why he is only now going into surgery?
I'm wondering if he couldn't get surgery since lockout prohibited them with interacting with team trainers.

I'm betting there is much more to this story. Like he was doing something his contact prohibited.

I hate to start banging the drum early, but I feel like there are 50 people on this board who could do a better job covering the Astros than Chandler Rome.
Same place they've always been....waiting until the team does something and then flooding through the door and running their mouths.agproducer said:
For comparison's sake:
Rangers signed two high profile, high dollar FAs, 500 posts on their thread.
Astros have another off season with questions about re-signing a popular starter and key FA, 5K posts.
Where the **** is Arlington?
Thats the problem with having a team with a bunch of older players.tjack16 said:EastCoastAgNc said:
After the war they handled Meyers last postseason and Brantley's and Bergman's injury situations last season, I don't trust dusty for any reliable or accurate injury info. I'll wait till click says something. He seems to be more honest.
"Turf made Brantley's legs sore, he will be back in a few days"
*Brantley misses 15 games *
"Yuli slept wrong on the hotel pillow"
*Yuli misses almost 3 weeks*
ah, yes, long-term contracts.tjack16 said:Fernando Tatis Jr. fractured his wrist during the offseason, A.J. Preller said. He’s headed for a surgery that could come with a recovery time of up to three months.

Yikes
I was the exact same way and same thing holds for the Cowboys too...made me hate both with a passion when I would root for the Rangers (especially when Nolan was on the bump) and even Dallas when I was younger (in the 70's).The Beef01 said:Same place they've always been....waiting until the team does something and then flooding through the door and running their mouths.agproducer said:

I actually didn't hate the Rangers until college when every Rangers fan I knew talked **** constantly about the Astros and I had no idea there was any kind of animus. Hell, the teams didn't even play each other for the 1st time until my senior year.
Twins and Cardinals continue to chase Trevor Story services, the Yankees and Astros still can't be ruled out, the Astros depend on what they can do with Correa to go all in for Story, Per source ✍🏽@hgomez27

Jacob deGrom said his plan is to opt out at season’s end.

#MNTwins, back in need of a SS and with money to spend, have checked in on Trevor Story. Logical fit. Story wants to stay at SS and has turned down 9-figure deals (more than $100M) because they were fit other positions. @DanHayesMLB mentioned link

Sources: #Twins, #Athletics have discussed trade proposals in recent days that would include a starting pitcher going to Minnesota. Sean Manaea or Frankie Montas is the top candidate to be included in the deal, if it comes to fruition. @MLB @MLBNetwork

He may make $50M a year in his next deal
No idea bro. Nothing imminent at the moment. But, the Astros are very much in the heat of this…Jim Crane wants to keep his SS. https://t.co/rWBeFCnQ0e

Any idea when they will announce updated schedule with the Phillies and Yankees series makeup dates?
I believe the general rule was the first series that was scheduled will now end the season. The second series would be moved to be in-season. It would either be played as a double header / single header possibly spread across off-days. I think the schedule comes out this week.AustinCountyAg said:tjack16 said:

I know yanks will come to Houston in July I believe and play a double hitter.

Forrest Whitley had the honor of being the Astros beat’s first in-clubhouse interview in two years. He said he feels great and will throw his eighth bullpen session of his rehab progression tomorrow. He said he could be in a game by end of May or early June.
