I think I saw somewhere in some contracts that any Medical procedures a player goes through have to be approved by team doctors (if it requires surgery). I could be wrong though

I actually didn't hate the Rangers until college when every Rangers fan I knew talked **** constantly about the Astros and I had no idea there was any kind of animus. Hell, the teams didn't even play each other for the 1st time until my senior year.

Same. When Astros were in the NL, I sorry of cheered fort the Rangers because they were a team in Texas. Plus, I've always been a big Nolan fan. But dealing with Rangers fans in college soured me on the team. That was in the late 90s BTW. Now, I want them to lose and lose a lot.

I was the exact same way and same thing holds for the Cowboys too...made me hate both with a passion when I would root for the Rangers (especially when Nolan was on the bump) and even Dallas when I was younger (in the 70's).

I still wouldn't sleep on Story. I think I'd give him the Baez contract 6/140 (opt out after 2/42). That 6th year bothers me tho.

teams really seem to want former Rockies infielders...Story, Arenado, LeMahieu...and pay them a lot of money.

If he can stay healthy.

LeMahieu in year one improved. Really good and pretty consistent year. Probably from being more protected in the lineup.

He was trash last year after a career-high COVID season. Still something fishy about that year for a lot of guys to me (cough, Arozarena, cough). Maybe it was just a hot streak and he didn't have time to have the offsetting slump. I think the long contract and it's wisdom are still very much up in the air.

I know teams control for stats at altitude, but it doesn't seem like they put as much importance on it as they should. Arenado saw an 80+ point drop from his career average when he went to STL.

Any idea when they will announce updated schedule with the Phillies and Yankees series makeup dates?

I believe the general rule was the first series that was scheduled will now end the season. The second series would be moved to be in-season. It would either be played as a double header / single header possibly spread across off-days. I think the schedule comes out this week.

Forrest Whitley had the honor of being the Astros beat’s first in-clubhouse interview in two years. He said he feels great and will throw his eighth bullpen session of his rehab progression tomorrow. He said he could be in a game by end of May or early June.
