Nelson Cruz is close to making a decision, and it appears to be down to the Dodgers and Padres, per source.

Looking to sign one more
Per sources, the Padres are "aggressively shopping" both Eric Hosmer & Wil Myers.
— Mark Feinsand (@Feinsand) March 13, 2022
Hosmer:
* 4 years/$60M left on deal
* Limited no-trade (can block deals to 10 teams)
* can opt out after '22
* 10-5 rights after '22
Myers:
* owed $20M in '22
* $20M '23 club option ($1M buyout)
Twins are looking to add another veteran to the rotation, with free agents Johnny Cueto, Michael Pineda and perhaps Zack Greinke among the options.

Good luck getting someone to take hosmers contract, what an albatross
#Angels MGR Joe Maddon said he is considering moving Mike Trout from CF to corner OF spot. Brandon Marsh would probably be CF if that happens.

I think it already hasMarvin said:
Have to say, I'm a bit surprised that Correa hasn't signed anywhere. At what point, if any, do you think it may play back into the Astros favor... mid-week, end of the week maybe?

The Rockies continue to search for a middle-of-the-order bat. Kris Bryant, Kyle Schwarber and Michael Conforto are among Colorado’s potential targets, per sources.

The Astros have about $33m until they hit the luxury tax. If by some miracle they sign Correa even to a short but big money deal, they have to offload some salary. Crane won't go over the tax until the trade deadline. Only place I can see then doing that is trading away odo, but they would probably have to eat some of his salary.
Bryant already has a ring. Not exactly a bad deal to go live in Denver for 4-5 years, launch 40 HR a year playing half your games at Coors and pad those stats for an outside chance at the HoF.EastCoastAgNc said:The Rockies continue to search for a middle-of-the-order bat. Why would any of these guys waste their career in this pit of despair...they never contend for anything.
The A's signed right-hander Austin Pruitt to a minor-league deal with an invite to major-league camp, they announced. Pruitt, 32, pitched from 2017-19 w/ the Rays and last year briefly with the Astros and Marlins. Career 4.83 ERA in 73 major-league games.

.@astros owner Jim Crane said he would re-engage with free agent shortstop Carlos Correa (@TeamCJCorrea) and the Astros have done just that: “Our team has reached out to his agent. We’re in discussions.”

As agents have noted: Given the offers Carlos Correa got before the lockout, his previous agency would be in position to claim a majority of whatever he gets in a multi-year deal. If Correa signs for for one year now, new agent Scott Boras gets all $ of a new deal next winter.

Kiner-Falefa was long a target of the #Yankees. See him as SS until Peraza or Volpe is ready. At this moment, NYY IF likely LeMahieu at 1b, Torres at 2b, Kiner-Falefa at SS, Donaldson at 3b.
